The submission versions of the Aspley Heath Neighbourhood Plan, in which the Reg 14 comments are addressed, have been lodged with Central Bedfordshire Council. The Regulation 16 consultation details can be found here: The submission documents can be downloaded from the CBC Reg16 Consultation page here.

PLEASE NOTE: sometimes clicking the link in this post will open the CBC web page but when you click on the documents, it will prompt you to log into CBC’s share point site. However it may also offer the option to open in a separate browser window. If you choose this, it should then displays a list of AH Reg 16 documents. If this doesn’t work, try clicking and holding on the link in this post, and select ‘open in new browser window’. The list of documents then displays and you can download and view them. Alternatively, browse to the CBC website without going through the link in this post and enter the search term Aspley Heath Neighbourhood Plan Regulation 16 in the CBC search box on their website. The CBC Reg 16 web page will display and the link to the AH Reg 16 documents should work. Access to Sharepoint sites is notoriously unpredictable.

The 6-week Regulation 16 consultation period is Tuesday 15 April 2025 to Tuesday 27 May 2025 and CBC are inviting comments by email and by post. In addition to the Neighbourhood Plan, the GI Plan and the Design Codes, we also wrote a short History of Aspley Heath as a reference document, and there is the Consultation Statement which contains details of all the community engagement events and activities, the questionnaire and the analysis of the responses which fed into the Neighbourhood Plan.

Once this stage is complete, the plan gets reviewed by an examiner who will pick up on anything that is not compatible with the local plan or which is inappropriate for a Neighbourhood Plan and then the last step is a referendum where you, the Aspley Heath Residents, get to vote on whether to adopt our neighbourhood plan.

The referendum is managed by CBC and runs very much like a council election, with voting slips and a polling station.
